The MCAT Boot Camp promo video is out! http://youtu.be/ArBblwBKy6U

Also, check out these short interviews from MCAT Boot Camp 2011! My brother David and I (Debbie Beihl) made the video (that's why it's slightly blurry). But the stories are really cool. Registration is still open for MCAT Boot Camp 2012. Click on the registration link above to find the registration form.

Common Questions about Boot Camp PDF Print E-mail

How long does MCAT Boot Camp last? May 30-July 29.

How much does it cost? $2500, including tuition, room and board, books, practice tests, and selected weekend recreation. If you register before April 1, you will receive an early bird discount of $50. Register by May 1 for the regular cost ($2500). Registration between May 1 and 23 will have an addition $50 late fee.

Should I start studying before Boot Camp? Yes, if at all possible. MCAT Boot Camp recommends that you study for three months before taking your MCAT to maximize your performance. The most ideal way to do that is to study in May, come to Boot Camp in June and July, and take your MCAT in August.

Where will I live? MCAT Boot Camp students will be living in the Weimar Academy dormitories.

What will our daily schedule be like? When will we have class? MCAT Boot Camp is a full day program, including morning exercise, dorm worships, and study between 8:30 am and 8 pm with hourly breaks. This might sound crazy, but it will prepare you to excel on the MCAT and in medical school. Come to MCAT Boot Camp so that you will have spiritual and social support in this time in your academic career. You will have Friday afternoon, Sabbath, and Sunday morning free. You will also be allowed to eat, breath, and drink water. Laughing will be allowed as well. J Tenatively, class will meet in the morning from 8:30-12:30. Then students will be required to study in a central location (either individually or with friends) between 2:00 and 8:00 (the “2 to 8 club”).

To get the maximum benefit from MCAT Boot Camp, we highly recommend that you start studying for your MCAT in May before you come to the program. For optimal MCAT performance, we recommend three months of MCAT study: one month before MCAT Boot Camp followed by two months at MCAT Boot Camp. Taking your MCAT fairly soon after you finish the program is recommended.

MCAT Boot Camp will have orientation and the first day of classes on May 30. So plan on arriving by May 29.

Books will be provided upon arrival to MCAT Boot Camp. The cost of books is included in your price for tuition. If you do bring any books that are being used, we unfortunately cannot provide any discounts on tuition.

For General Chemistry and General Physics, we will be using ExamKrackers.

For General Biology, we will be using mcat-review.org. (Last year I taught General Biology using ExamKrackers, but the material on mcat-review.org is significantly higher quality and more tailored for the MCAT than the material in ExamKrackers.) I will organize this material into a syllabus that you will receive when you arrive.

Organic Chemistry will be taught using lectures and teacher-derived handouts. I also found this method of teaching to be substantially more effective than ExamKrackers.

While the materials provided should be amply sufficient to study from, feel free to bring any undergraduate science texts (for the tested subjects) or other review books you wish.

Admission requirements:

The MCAT is designed to test material covered in General Biology, General Chemistry, General Physics, and Organic Chemistry. Therefore, MCAT Boot Camp students must have passed both semesters of all four of these classes with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. Exceptions to this will be considered only in rare circumstances on a case-by-case basis after review by the admissions committee and both instructors.
